Business Risk Consultant
Meet Chris Murray, Jr.
Chris Murray joined the Granite Insurance team in 2017 as a Business Risk. Chris grew up in Catawba County and, after graduating from NC State University, he spent the first part of his career in the construction industry. Naturally, Chris still serves that industry by holding board and chair positions with the PCEA (Professional Construction Estimators Association and the ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors).
While the construction industry is a natural place for Chris, he excels in working with clients in many industries, bringing tailored risk management/insurance/ benefits solutions. His sweet spot is working with companies that are in the 50 – 500 employee range.
In a world flooded with insurance agents, Chris’s implementation of Granite Insurances radically unique approach has positioned him to be one of the area’s leading consultants, bringing a philosophy that puts the needs of the client at the forefront and working with them to take control of their risks and associated costs.
Chris holds the professional designations of Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist (CLCS), Certified Work Comp Advisor (CWCA), Certified Builders Insurance Agent (CBIA) and Master Work Comp Advisor (MWCA).
Chris resides in the Mountain View community with his son, Seth. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with Seth, coaching and working out in the CrossFit gym, and spends as much time outdoors as possible with his two English Labs.
