Omar Gonzalez joined Granite Insurance in August 2025 as a Strategic Account Executive. He brings a unique blend of risk management expertise, curiosity, strategic insight, and data-driven analysis. Omar earned his degree in Actuarial Science with minors in Risk Management & Insurance and Statistics from Appalachian State University, and he is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Applied Data Analytics, further sharpening his ability to transform complex data into actionable insights. 

Prior to joining Granite, Omar was an Enterprise and Insurance Risk Manager, managing a large insurance portfolio, high-value insurance claims, developing enterprise risk frameworks, and advising senior leadership on risk governance and strategy. His career foundation began in the military as an All-Source Intelligence Analyst, where he honed skills in communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, and strategy under pressure.  

Omar lives in Boone, North Carolina, with his wife, Bethany. He enjoys weightlifting, playing pickleball, prayer and meditation, thinking and questioning his assumptions, and reading any book on philosophy, wisdom, psychology, or economics. A lifelong learner and strategist at heart, Omar values time with his family, great conversations, and can be found dinkin’ at a nearby pickleball court. 

Fun Facts 

• Omar and Bethany have furry family members. An English Cream Golden Doodle, Lilly, and two orange tabbies, Anakin and Ahsoka. 

• Omar loves spending his weekend mornings perfecting his French-style scrambled eggs, or œufs brouillés, and Lilly loves to supervise, judge, and taste-test! 

• Omar enjoys music and loves to sing!
